El propósito principal del CESDEM es colaborar con las instituciones públicas y privadas y los organismos internacionales que trabajan en el desarrollo del país, en el diagnóstico de los problemas y necesidades sociales y en la búsqueda de soluciones adecuadas a los mismos.

Entity created by the Dominican Government, through the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic, with the purpose of spreading the cultural values of the Dominican Republic, promoting the artistic and literary creation of Dominicans residing in the United States, and Offer the Dominican Diaspora an action program that contributes to the maintenance of national cultural values.
