He was born in San Pedro de Macorís in 1921 and died in Santo Domingo in 1965. His work is a synthesis of abstraction, expressionism and geometrization, made with media that were unusual in Dominican painting from the 1950s to the 1960s. In this way, he marked a rupture between the existing tradition and contemporary interpretive radicalism.
